We have been to the River Dock twice, first time we didn't have the fish, second time we went, we had the catfish fritters, very large portion, it was very good. Right now as I am giving this review, it sounds delicious. Cannot wait to go back. The service is excellent as well as the food.

What a great place to stop in and have a meal. It's where the locals go. The service is friendly and the food is delicious. If your lucky you can score a place along the wall of windows to have a view of the water.Stopped in and had biscuits and gravy. Served as one, two or four biscuits. Two was filling for me but I could have easily shoved two more... in if I had them in front of me. The biscuits had a great texture and were not hard as rocks like some places. The gravy had a good flavor to them and definitely were not bland.Great place to stop in and relax and have a great meal.read more

Everybody was friendly. We were kinda late almost everything was sold out. No pie either. But what little I ate the sweet potato and honey butter was good. They make a nice raspberry vinaigrette for salad is nice. Also the homemade pies she described to me sounded good too.

Fun times. Fishing on the dock caught carp, gar, an eel. Not what I was wanting. Called in fried chicken to go.

Mel and Sara's Illinois Riverdock is a must! The generosity shown to me before the restaurant even opened would have been enough to make me a customer for life!Extra friendly staff, HUGE portions, reasonably priced, and served in a small town atmosphere that is sadly disappearing in most places.Their breakfast is incredible! The buffalo fritters were so... good I couldn't believe it. Their brisket is to die for. And yes, there's a reason so many other reviews mention their pie! You've read enough already. Go do yourself a favor. 😉read more

Delicious food at hometown diner with riverside views. Extensive menu with friendly owner and attentive wait staff. Dessert case is a dream come true. Entrees are delicious with a wide variety of side dishes. Don't miss the Sunday Special and say hi to the resident hummingbirds!!

Always great food. The brisket is worth traveling here. I also enjoy the lemon peppered walleye, reminds me of an ocean fish. They also have a good fried chicken and many fresh side dishes. All this in a dinner type setting. It is riverfront so you can boat up the Illinois River and enjoy. Or take a drive around beautiful Calhoun County.

Excellent service, catfish fritters plate was plenty to eat. Pork steak platter was delicious and a good size steak. Worth the drive, but you best be hungry! They always have great food and two of the best waitresses are BRANDI and LAUREN. They are always checking on their tables so try and sit in their section or ask for one of them. They make you feel... appreciated. We drive 2 hours to have the best fish and BBQ pork steak around at least twice a month. It's still the best place to go for reasonable dinner. Brandi is the best waitress we have seen in quite some time. She cares about her customer's. Give this local business a try you won't be disappointed. Don't know what happened here but now they are posting political signs inside the restaurant. Everyone has their own opinion on politics and they should be your personal opinion not for your customers because some may not have the same opinion.read more
